We filled our wrinkles, while we slept!

So I finally got my hands on the elusive Rodan + Fields REDEFINE ACUTE CARE™, and all I can say is prepare to have your mind blown! I recruited the hubby to join me in this adventure, because I feel having our own personal pictures is crucial to showing you the caliber of this product! If you aren't familiar with REDEFINE ACUTE CARE™, allow me to give you a quick rundown. REDEFINE ACUTE CARE™ are patches that quickly and comfortably smooth targeted lines and wrinkles using Liquid Cone Technology to melt line-defying peptides directly into the wrinkle for a younger- looking appearance. There are no needles required, it's painless, and it can be used in the comfort of your own home (while you are sleeping)!
This is what the patch looks like.

So here is how we did it at our house. We each washed our face with our Rodan + Fields Reverse Step 1. We patted it dry, making sure that there was no dampness so the patch would stick. Then we snapped some before pictures. (cause you have to document this stuff right?) Then we applied the patches to the wrinkles we were targeting, at our house this was the eye area, per the instructions on the box. Then followed with the rest of our night time routine which was the AMP MD Roller, REDEFINE Night Renewing Serum, and the REDEFINE Overnight Restorative Cream. I just avoided the patch as I continued my regimen. The hubby, well, he went to bed. The process is painless, the patch kind of feels like a soft velcro as you press on it. We awoke this morning to find one of my husbands patches on his shoulder, but mine were both in place. We were quite impressed with the out come. Here are the pics. (the hubby's left patch is the one that fell off, you can tell in the pic that it hindered his results)

Needless to say, the proof is in the pictures. Doctors Rodan and Fields have done it again. I want everyone to try these and see results for themselves, but unfortunately I can't just give the product to everyone. What I Love Wednesdays!

So here is where I skip making excuses for not sticking with my blogging, and just say I am trying a new angle and hoping it will keep me engaged as well as some readers! (fingers crossed) Summer has been crazy super busy, and I am ready for fall more than ever! I will give a summer recap soon, but for now here are my current obsessions:
1. Bikram Yoga. It's hot, it's messy, it's hard...I LOVE IT! Seriously if it wasn't so expensive to become an instructor I would consider upping my effort and putting this into my future plans.
2. Spinning. Once again it's hard, it builds endurance, it crushes calories...I LOVE IT!
3. Rodan + Fields REVERSE Regimen. Because this girl spent too much time in the sun this summer!

4. Advocare Spark. Safer than an energy drink, tastes good, and gives me the fuel I need to survive my workouts!

5. Coconut Water. Because with all the sweating I do I have to stay hydrated. Why not do it naturally?

There you have it my top 5 picks of the week! Until next time live well, do well, and be well!

Living With Integrity

I have a big problem trusting people lately.  I guess after so many times of having faith in people and believing they will do the right thing, only to get burned in the end by an outcome I never imagined, has ruined me. Gone are the good ole days.  A person's word isn't worth much anymore. It is sad that you pretty much always have to have a binding contract to protect yourself.  What happened to integrity? What happened to doing the right thing? Why is everyone so caught up in personal gain that they don't care to compromise their character to get ahead?  What happened to being honest?  Why are we blind to our on faults, yet cast blame on others?

My son, Knox, sings a little Sunday school song that I sang myself as a child, and I am certain just about every child raised in a southern church did as well, about the wise man and the foolish man. If you don't know the song it basically says, the wise man built his house on the rock, the rains came, the floods came, and his house stood firm. On the other hand the foolish man built his house on the sand, and when the rains and floods came it went PLOP! (that was always my favorite part as a child because we could be loud and clap our hands together to make the PLOP!) Now I have never given much thought to the song, and interpreting what it meant in depth. I always just thought wise people build their houses on The Rock, which is Jesus, and the foolish people choose the sand, which is the Devil. The other night I woke up with this particular song was in my head, and a new more in depth interpretation came to me. If we build our lives around morals, principles, truth, and righteousness, we have a firm foundation that will not fall. We shouldn't compromise any of this for personal gain, you know keep our conscience and character clean.  On the other hand when we build our lives around deceitfulness, corruption, and crooked ways we will fall. We may not fall immediately, but eventually we will fall.

This isn't to say that sticking to your guns, is all sunshine and roses. Doing what's right, isn't always the popular thing or the easiest.  Often times staying true to yourself makes life harder.  I for one would rather have a clear conscience, knowing I stayed true to myself, than come out ahead by compromising my character. Besides that coming out ahead in the initial circumstance, has no meaning if in the end we fall.

At our house we have BIG hearts. We always tend to have faith in people, to have it blow up in our faces.  We do unto others, how we'd like to be treated, only to have them at times treat us poorly.  That hurts, ya know!  You know what else we know?  We are only responsible for how we treat others.  The way they treat us, that's their karma.

"Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity, than a rich man who is crooked in his ways"- Proverbs 28:6

Integrity- Choosing your thoughts, words, and actions based on what's right rather than what's in it for you.

"Act with integrity in all your interactions and you'll be able to maintain poise and self- respect regardless of the outcome."- Peggy Carlaw

"Live so that when your children think of fairness, caring, and integrity, they think of you."

You are Enough

Ever feel like you aren't enough? You can't get enough done, your run yourself to death and accomplish nothing. The house is never clean, the car is never clean, there is always a pile of laundry, the daily "to do" lists never get checked off, your child ate a (gasp) hot dog for lunch, and you feel defeated at the end of the day. If you are a woman I am sure you feel this way at times. I won't direct this at working moms, work at home moms, or stay at home moms. From talking to my friends, who are new mothers, seasoned mothers, and not moms at all, has shown me that as women we are over achievers. We feel responsible for keeping things clean, making things pretty, cooking fabulous meals, and keeping our households together. Through social media we are exposed to the parenting styles and life styles of others and we constantly compare ourselves to them. You have the crafty Pinterest moms, who make you wonder who has time for that. Then there are the mom's with the body of a model a week after giving birth, that has to be credited to good genetics. Gag me. You've got the mom over there talking about how she'd never give her child anything with high fructose corn syrup, food coloring, and heaven forbid they eat a chemical. There are always controversies over breastfeeding and formula feeding. Then you add family to the equation, always questioning and voicing their unwanted opinion. People are always judging others for their decisions, we feel like we are under constant scrutiny, and the pressure sucks.

I'm fed up with it. There are tons of posts of this nature, I know that. I also know that some of the people that might read this, probably won't read the others. We are designed to lift each other up. Be inspiring, focus on the positive, and give a compliment for Pete's sake (idk who Pete is, but really). Just because someone does stuff different than us, does not make them wrong. As long as we are trying our best and abiding by the laws that are in place to protect our children, I think we are doing pretty well. As long as are kids are fed, clothed, cleaned, and loved, we are winning.

This mommy thing isn't easy. I have learned that if the "to-do" list isn't checked off, just roll it over to the next day. Toys are probably going to be a constant in the family room so just deal with it, the home decorating can come later. Pretty sure our furniture will need to be burned by the time my lil guy is finished peeing, spilling, and spitting on it. The laundry will never all be done, so why try. Just wash and fold a load or two a day. The house will never be clean, take it a room at a time. When you finish the last room, its time to start over on the first one.  A juice box won't kill my son, neither will ice cream sandwiches...in moderation. I have surrendered to the previous. If he eats some dirt, or maybe even a rock, he will survive. TV won't ruin him, it's a life saver when mommy needs to do something. However I am chosey about what he watches. Moderation is the mantra at our house.

The point of my ramble is- don't compare yourself to others. Decide what works for you and your family, and do it. Don't push your beliefs on others. Share your knowledge on things you are passionate about, but don't judge others for not seeing it your way.

food for thought- You are only seeing other people's lives as they portray them on social media, the real life they live is probably not that perfect.
